Prof. Alessio Ferone

Prof. Alessio Ferone is a confirmed assistant professor in Computer Science (INF/01 – 01/B1), of the Department of Science and Technology, University of Naples Parthenope. The scientific activity of Prof. Alessio Ferone concerns the analysis and development of machine learning algorithms for supervised and unsupervised automatic learning. Furthermore, he has been developing novel algorithms that exploit “soft” approaches and in particular the fuzzy, rough and possibilistic theories and their hybridization applied to feature selection, clustering and meta-clustering. Particular emphasis has been placed on the study of classes of algorithms that come into play in the application area of image and video processing and analysis (with focus on Marine Environment monitoring), shape recognition and bioinformatics. The aspects relating to the development of control algorithms for distributed systems have also been analyzed with particular regard to the aspect of distributed consensus in blockchain applications.
